I think I had a sugar high yesterday night. Got free tix to In Good Company (starring Scarlett Johansson, Topher Grace and Dennis Quaid) so went with Ying. They gave us free popcorn and soft drink. I was so thirsty after sharing the large Cold Rock ice cream with Ying that I ended up polishing off an entire bottle of Lift. My first bottle of soft drink in probably 2 years? Maybe more. Never did like them fizzy things. Give me Seasons Ice Lemon Tea anyday.

So after the movie I rushed to Loftus and played the whole of the second half. We lost again, 20 to 5. How sad. I doubt we'll be able to win a single game, seriously. But who knows, stranger things have happened.

Got home pretty early, around 9ish. Colls called while I was driving myself home and after I got home I called her back to chat. Had a nice conversation while I lounged on my outdoor furniture bench and enjoyed the night air. Hopefully wasn't talking too loudly and disturbing my neighbours. Ah well.

On a frivolous whim I decided to ring D! I bumped into him at the Perth train station on my way to meet Ying in Subi. Been bumping into him quite a lot! Hahah... so rang him up and started chatting happily. (Now I think about it I was definitely on a sugar high...) Don't know if he thought I was some kind of loony girl or if he was happy to talk to me. Ah whatever. It was fun anyway. He had to go off halfway 'cos his auntie called him long distance. Hmm.

Stupid Polish guy isn't picking up his phone. I want to get my MP3 player back from him dammit. *mildly annoyed*

I'm so sick of guys right now... 'cos they're never the ones I want! No one for me to fall madly in love with. How sad. I told Shane that it's so sad I'm jaded and I'm not even 25 yet. Good gracious.

Feeling a bit ill... not sure if it's 'cos I've been eating really weirdly or 'cos of excessive exercise or just plain fatigue.

Dang.

My poor sis is still out filming and has an assignment due tomorrow.

AND I think she's meant to go with me to send my mom off at the airport.

I so don't feel like going into work tomorrow hey.

Even though work IS a lot better now and I actually don't really dread going in as much as I did a month or so ago.

It's all relative - how you look at it - I suppose.

So I've started going out with this guy. He's Polish and 3 years younger than me. We've been on 4 or 5 dates (I guess you could call them that?). Not quite sure how I'm dealing with dating someone from a different culture who is younger than me. I'm more confused than anything at the moment I think. Kinda want to go backwards a bit but I think that will confuse the poor guy. Which would put us on the same page I guess. He seems to like me a lot but I'm not sure how genuine it is. Think I've got trust issues when it comes to these things. How annoying. Can't really trust my own judgment nowadays, I've been pretty off-the-mark the past few times. *shakes head*

So I'm taking the coward's path and just sitting and waiting. Or maybe it's not so cowardly considering I'm scared and confused. Usually by now I've just said 'bye' and gone back to a solo act. Guys are weird creatures but then I'm not exactly very unweird myself. Haha. We're all weird to some degree I suppose.

It's been 12 days since the first date. Thursday and it will be the 2 week mark. Past Thursday we'll have lasted longer than me and Jimmy. Haha. We've already lasted longer than me and Kenneth I think. Which makes me sad because I thought Kenneth and I would've lasted longer than that. Meng I hardly miss at all, which goes to show how much I really liked him I suppose. I'm so seriously clueless. 'Tis bad.

More muddling in the days ahead I think. Fingers crossed I don't get into some serious shit.

3+ months later, has anything changed? (First done on 10 December 2004)

1. What is the geekiest part of your music collection?
Hmm... I listen to anything/everything. Not really a music geek... still not a music geek.

2. What do you eat when you raid the fridge late at night?
Usually don't eat after dinner. If I do get something, it would be a hot drink. been eating a lot of chocolate eggs (it's all Easter's fault!)

3. What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
Butterfly Lovers - feat. Nicky Wu and Charlie Yeung The latest sobfest was Million Dollar Baby, truly profoundly sad. Oh, and The Notebook too.

4. If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
No one is coming anywhere near me with a scapel. Still happily and contentedly surgery-free.

5. Do you have a completely irrational fear?
People leaving me. yup... still that.

6. What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
Picking at the skin around the fingernails or folding pieces of paper (if I'm holding one). talking more and talking louder, about stupid little things.

7. Are you a pyromaniac?
Nope. I did have dreams of becoming a pyrotechnician for big blockbuster action films at one point though. no action there.

8. Do you have too many love interests?
I think maybe I fall in love much too easily. i'm seeing someone, but he's making me think of someone else. ah damn. i like to think of myself as a one-man woman, but i don't think i've found one man i really want to devote myself to yet. who is worthy...

9. Do you know anyone famous?
One of my friends is the niece of Michelle Yeoh apparently... does that count? let's see. don't think i've gotten to know any famous people in the past 3 months.

10. Describe your bed
Sofa bed from IKEA, but I prefer sleeping on the floor - tatami mat style. it's still the sofa bed.

11. Are you spontaneous or planned?
Depends on my mood and what the activity is... same old, same old.

12. Who would play you in a movie?
Let's see... can't think of anyone at the moment. someone quirky and funny and yet oddly serious.

13. Do you know how to play poker?
Yeah, of course. i've not played in a while. hm.

14. What do you carry with you at all times?
My heart on my sleeve. too much on my mind.

15. What do you miss most about being a kid?
Being ignorantly happy. innocence (in myself and others).

16. Are you happy with your given name?
Part of it, yes. it's starting to grow on me, all of it.

17. How much money would it take to get you to give up the internet for 1 year?
At least as much as my current annual salary, I need it for work. i'm still too cheap to pay for broadband. hah.

18. What color is your bedroom?
White. Because I'm too poor to get it repainted something else. just realised it is an off-white sort of grey-brown tint.

19. What was the last song you were listening to?
Currently I have some Mandarin pop song playing, not sure what the title is. don't know, think it was something by jack johnson.

20. Have you ever been in a play?
Lots of times when I was in primary school, a couple of times in secondary school. ah those were the days.

21. Have you ever been in love?
Yes. not lately, i don't think. can't really tell anymore. confusion seems to be the ruling emotion of late.

22. Do you talk a lot?
Depends on who I'm talking to and what I'm talking about. i've been going to and fro between extremes i think.

23. Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
Sometimes. haven't been indulging in much self-loathing lately. good sign?

24. Do transient, homeless, or starving people sometimes annoy you?
No, why would they? i wish i had the nerve/time/money/generosity of heart to go and feed the starving and homeless. i'm just too bloody self-absorbed and preoccupied with my own little existence.

25. Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
I hope I am; I try to be. generally nice, with streaks of rebelliousness, rage and insensitivity.

26. Do you spend more time with your girlfriend/boyfriend or your friends?
Not sure, but I guess I would. at the moment i'm spending most of my time with myself. if not, then with family (mostly my sister). friends and boyfriend seem to occupy equal importance...

27. What is your ideal marriage location?
Basketball stadium, baseball stadium or the beach. i'm beginning to wonder if i'll ever get married at all... haha... the appeal seems to be waning.

28. Which musical instrument do you wish you could play?
Drums. Definitely drums. electric guitar would be cool too.

29. Favorite fabric?

34. What do you order at a bar?
99% of the time I drink only water. But if I have to, then vodka and orange juice or Frangelico straight or if I'm feeling adventurous, some interesting sounding cocktail. haven't had any alcohol in a bar since Dec. though i did have a glass of pretty crappy white wine at this art exhibition last Fri.

40. What kind of watch do you wear?
My mobile phone doubles as a watch. uh huh.

I usually try to blend in. but i'm not one of them sheep-follower types. quietly different is the way...

46. Would you ever go out dressed like the opposite sex?
I used to wear guy's clothes, they were more comfortable. Some people did end up mistaking me for a guy. having long hair makes it easier for people to tell i'm a girl. or so it seems.

47. What's one car you will never buy?
No Hummers. No old-uncle Mercedes cars.

According to Humanmetrics Small Business Entrepreneur Profiler (DEMO), I am a:

FREELANCER

The Freelancer prefers to work independently, managing his time and resources in accordance with whatever work he finds. He does not get involved in business partnerships nor does he hire employees. Freelancers usually look actively for a customer and change them frequently as circumstances dictate.

In many cases, the Freelancer's customers are other businesses. When the Freelancer gets an order on a contract, he will carry it out in accordance with a fixed agreement between himself and his customer.

Necessary Steps to Success in Your Business
Your advertisements should be correctly targeted. If your business is local you should place your ads with the local advertising agencies; if your business is aimed at a wider range of customers, you should place your ads with nation-wide or international advertising agencies. In both cases, place your ads in professional and classified directories since, generally, your business is specifically professional and it is likely that your customers are among those who look through these directories.

It is highly desirable to contact the centers which you expect will be your customers, by mail, telephone or other means of communication.

Analyze carefully the needs of the consumers and design your ads in such a manner that they meet the present requirements of your potential customers.

Referrals of professionals and recommendations are essential for your business. Publish them in your advertisements. They may have a critical impact on the customer's decision to buy your product, because in many cases he has no other way of judging the quality of your product.

Give free lectures and presentations if it is acceptable in your profession. It will attract customers who are interested in your service, strengthen your reputation, and may result in increasing sales. Such presentations will make your business familiar to a larger audience, will build customer trust in your business, and will give you a basis for raising the price for the service you provide.

When speaking with your customer show real interest in him and impress on him your readiness to help.

As a Freelancer, you are basing your business on your own professional knowledge and skills. Hence, productivity of the business strongly depends on your own efforts. You should estimate if you have the staying power to attain the profit level you require. The profitability of a business depends on the price of the service, but you may raise your price only if you have established a reputation or if there is an excess of orders. Sometimes the Freelancer will hire employees if he has an excess of orders. In such a situation, the Freelance is usually in charge of the main part of the business, while the employees are engaged in supportive work.

In some fields of activity it is advantageous for the Freelancer to have an agent who will promote and advertise the Freelancer's service.

It makes good sense to periodically invest in purchasing new modern equipment which allows you to increase productivity or improve the quality of your service or goods. In some cases, new machinery makes your work easier or opens up new opportunities for your business.

Businesses in which the Freelancer Succeeds
Usually Freelancers find the orders in following occupations:
- Computer Programmer
- Translation
- Counseling services
- Web design
- Editing
- Proofreading
- Electronics
- Woodworking
- Typing
- Product Assembly
- Marketing
- Sewing
- Gardening
- Photography
- Writing
- Reporting
- Body-guarding
- Dance
- Arts
- Illustrations
- Design
- Music
- Acting
